Fixing a pole polygons in Cinema 4D

What I do is delete all the triangles and cut some new quad polygons with the knife (this will create some n-gons, but it does the trick) then I use the smooth brush tool to soften the area. You can cut a new loop of polygons with the knife further in the snout so the smoothing will only affect the tip area.

I'm pretty sure there is a way out there to fix this problem without generating n-gons but this technique has always worked for me.
